R-K-C-P

Who ever heard the Aretha Franklin song, "RESPECT?"  I suppose it's quite popular all around the world.  After all, she is considered a legend in the music industry.  Sometimes you hear the song at events, or in movies, but you get the drift.

People, in particularly, the ladies mimic the R-E-S-P-E-C-T part. LOL  If I am correct, I think it is sung in the Blues Brother movie, but I could be wrong.

How about RKCP?  Any clues?  Anyone want to know what's behind door number one?  Do you hear the music from the Price is Right playing?  Well Bob, it's a new car....

Just being extra there. LOL

  • R - Respect.
  • K - Kind.
  • C - Courteous.
  • P - Polite.

You see no matter happens in life, we want those things, and often we demand those in our dealings with others.  When dealing with other people, and specifically those who don't see eye to eye with us, how does R.K.C.P. factor in?

I work at tech manufacturing company.  It's a great company, Fortune 500, all the bells and whistles.  However, like anywhere, from McDonald's to Harvard, we all work with people that sometimes rub us the wrong way.  We shop and get a rude cashier.  Sometimes we are short with people.  Agitation and annoyance are parts of life and how we deal with the unlovable, unlikeable, and downright rude and nasty is sometimes part of the unpleasantness of life. [This is not a Complicated Order - No need to call Security:  Those who know the reference get it - Bon Qui Qui]

So what's to be done.  We need to remember R.K.C.P. and use it.  A soft answer turns away wrath.  It's hard to keep the fire burning if you don't put any more wood on it.  You don't have to clean the forest if you don't pollute - "Shout out to Smokey the Bear."

You get the point.  Being respectful is a choice and a disposition we can control.  Being Kind is a decision we can make.  Being courteous is a personality trait that we can develop or character trait.  Being polite is just plain beautiful.

In our dealings, if positivity matters, and it does.  We can write and sing our own melody every day.  Hopefully, that song will be R-K-C-P.  It may not be as popular as Aretha's but if enough people are singing it, I got a hunch the world will be better for it.  Guess what?  I bet you will be better for it too.

It's a hard life being mean and nasty and rude and whatever.  It's so easy to be easy like Sunday Morning.
