You Define You...
This article had to get re-written because Blogger seems to have malfunctioned but perhaps there is a reason I have to write it again. I wanted to write of late but was busy with life issues, and now I have the chance to do so.
There is a story in the Bible about a man who had a life change. If you read in the book of John 9:1-34, you find a passage where a man was healed by God. Needless to say, the man was questioned about his story. The people in his town questioned him. His parents were questioned about him. The affluent (religious leaders) finally told him in no uncertain terms what he could do with himself. You see there is something about change that offends people for some reason.
Let me question that? People like to say, "what or who you were to put you in place." It gives them an unreal sense of power. Or does it? There is no power in that unless you give it to them. You can change like the caterpillar becomes the butterfly. You can dare to soar high above the clouds like the eagle does. You don't have to be limited in scope, vision, or dreams. The story I cited reminds me that it doesn't matter what people think of you, the facts are easily seen. I like to think that if you spill some milk you can pick it up and get some more. If you fail you have the right to try again. You have the right to choose to do better. You have the right to dream and fulfill you dreams. You have the right to create a new world for yourself. No one has the right to chain you to a you that no longer exists. You are not enslaved to anyone's concept or vision of you. You make your own reality.

If you never remember anything else in life remember this: You are uniquely beautiful and supernaturally awesome. You define you.
I came to North Carolina, approximately 7 years ago. The clothes I was wearing hang in the closet. That was all of my worldly possessions. This is a fact. There was no car or house or job or food and zero credit. All I had was me and a desire, thirst, hunger, vision that I was going to make a better life for myself. Do you understand? I have made horrible choices in life. So what? I have come from dirt poor circumstances. So what? I had no wealth or affluence or power. So what? I speak this to every person that is disenfranchised in life, to the poor, the minority, the lame, the cripple, the disabled, the emotionally damaged, the prisoner, to all those so-called labeled by anyone. Those labels don't matter in God's sight. As long as you have breath, you can write your story. God can write His story on your heart -- No matter anyone's opinion of you because they don't matter. You define you.
This is something we experience in life possibly. People will attack your past when they can’t attack your character. Your character shows up everyday and if you made bad choices in the past make better choices today. You have the right to change. I guess that is why God talks about renewing your mind daily. Get up when you fall down. Take a brake when you’re out of breath. Rest if you get tired. Then get back in the race! I played sports and one thing athletes understand is that they are in the game. The fans scream and holler but they don’t have any say in the outcome. That’s the same lesson for life. You have a say in your life. You have influence in the outcome. Define you.
The picture shows that I am a Luxury Card -- Black Card Member. It doesn't mean that I arrived. What is stands for is the symbol of vision. Envision what you want for your life and then go get it. I get good grades. I work for it. We were at conference the other day, and after conference we were studying at 1 O'clock in the morning, and I had to get up at five for work. I worked for my car. It doesn't matter if people think I deserve it or not. I worked for it. One of my favorite movies is, "The Pursuit of Happyness." The line I always remember is when the star tells his son,
"Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. If you want something in life go get it. Go get it."
I don't care what anyone says or thinks about you. You care what you think and say about you.
Remember these words my friends: "People can say and think whatever they want about you or who they say you are or were, but you live in such a way that is a lie in the face of who you are today."
