Remember... Take Your Time and Do it Right

Life isn’t a race to the finish line as some might think.  Everyone likes their marbles and sometimes we don’t all play in the sandbox well.  That’s fine.  It doesn’t have to be perfect, the climb of life.  In fact Miley Cyrus has a song named, “The Climb.”  Listen to it if you get the chance.  Even Tim McGraw said to remember those behind you when you make it.  Tauren Wells, the gospel singer said it as well — you don’t make it alone.  So you see, no matter your place in life, it may seem like you are climbing.

If you ever watch any of the movies like, Vertical Limit or Cliffhanger, you will see the arduous task of climbing.  Watch close and you will see something so simple at work.  What is it?  It is taking one hand and placing it surely and squarely in position and then doing it with the other hand.  The process is repeated over and over and over until you reach the top.  You use your legs as well.

I watched Christmas movies growing up and I loved this song with the words, “...put one foot in front of the other... ...and soon you’ll be walking across the floor...”

There is so much truth to the simplicity of that act.  You have to put one foot in front first.  No one gets anywhere in life by standing still.  The act of placing a foot or a hand forward is needed.  Here’s the thing that is so beautiful about it.  ANYONE can do that.

Isn’t that remarkable?  Well, no it’s not but that is the key.  Anyone can accomplish almost anything in life by taking the first step.  Then taking another step.  Then another, and another.  Repeating the process over and over with the understanding that even if you fall, you can get up and do it again.  I love the “just man falls seven times but the Lord will help Him stand.”  Two are truly more strong than one alone, and a threefold cord is not easily broken.  I am so thankful for knowing that if I just do the simple act of moving forward I can get to where I am going?

Where do you want to go?  Wherever it is you can make it.  You won’t fail.  You may fall but you will rise if you want to get back up.  It’s a choice and there is no need to fear.  God made you to move forward!  Our bodies face forward.  This is a natural fact.  Our heads and eyes face forward.  Whoever you are in life look forward.  God is with you and I am praying for your success in the Lord.

Remember the climb and know that if you just keep moving you will get there.  It is true.
