What's Up with Us Christians?

Question: Hey Curtis why is the church so bunched up together?
Answer: Umm that is a good question really and I can’t define the answer but this is what I think.
Ah well I know I go to a good Christian church and have been to a few. It seems like all the good Christian folk like to hang around the other good Christian folk. And there are classes to that as well. The well to do ones kind of stick to themselves. The lower ones kind of fit in. The white church people can not speak to the black ones. The black ones kind of not speak to the white ones.
Ummm we have a lot of bible groups and studies and conferences. But those are really for us. I don’t know that going out is a real deal because we collectively like to speak and reach the people that we consider good. We donate our time to go to a pantry but maybe that is so we can be seen as doing the good Christian thing. I don’t know why we don’t go out into the world more.
I think that the gospel message is powerful irregardless of our personal failures, mistakes, and sins but I don’t think all of us believe that. There a difference between anointing, preaching, ministry and the roles we play. Anointing is regardless of you like David. He killed a man to sleep with His wife yet he is the guy who God says is a man after His own heart. So anointing is irregardless of you that’s on God and His Choice. Preaching is declaring or speaking forth. Ministry in essence is servant hood. Maybe we need to understand that sometimes when we think we or others are unfit to do God thinks otherwise and that would free us up to go out. It might. I know my own sins don’t stop me.
We kind of like the appearance of being the good Christian which is why we point. In reality we know our lives and know we are constantly repenting and confessing whether omission or commission but somehow we like the idea that we are better maybe. I don’t know.
What I will say is that going into Samaria means getting our pretty hands dirty and dealing with the no good people. I would figure we were the no good people before too. In fact I know people still have no good traits but are saved by a wonderful savior.
I don’t know why we stay huddled up. We are supposed to go out but that is a trend amongst believers. Hopefully it will be different with a newer focus so we will see in the coming years.
Statement: That was my answer in short.

Ok so this wasn't the all exhaustive answer that you might be looking for.  It just serves as a small frame of our mindset possibly.  I actually posted this on Facebook, so the format is what it is.

Here is the deal.  I was able to lead a campus tour of young minority men today.  I was an economically disadvantaged youth.  I know what it is like to live in poverty, and bad environments.  The thought behind this brief blog is this:  Everyone is not bad and if you give people the opportunity they may surprise you with what they can do.  Yes, they can go the other way too.  However, I prefer to think that everyone deserves a chance or chances.  I want to be the one who cheers you along in life, and I believe the Church can play a big role in that.

Remember this please:  Don't let your failures stop you from reaching your successes in life.
