Keep being a Light Where You Are

I was looking at the lamp in this article, and it seems really simple.  We don't know the journey of the products that we buy.  We don't know the material that journeyed to become part of the finished product that we buy or is given to us.  Every person we walk past along the way is journeying just like us.

I guess the reason I am writing is to say that no matter what is going on in life, we can still shine.  Britt Nicole sings a song "Gold," that tell us, "don't be afraid to wear your crown... ...everybody keeps score... ...afraid you're gonna lose... just ignore... ...they don't know the real you... ...all the rain in the sky... ...can't put out your fire... ...of all the stars out tonight... ...you shine brighter..."  Aren't those really nice words and advice.

We truly are the light of the world, and you shine bright, as the bible says.  The vase above is really pretty, but the beauty of the vase is that when the lamp is powered by the electricity is shines.  Do you understand the point.  You have to be connected to the power and on, in order to shine.  Jesus makes me shine. You can be a really beautiful vase, but what makes you stand out is your connection to the power.  Then people really see how beautiful you are.  Without that connection the lamp isn't really a lamp, but rather another piece of decoration.

I had this accent piece on my desk at work that reads, "Blossom where you are."  I like it because we don't know how God moves all the time, which makes life exciting, and sometimes we end up in a place where we never thought we would be.  That's ok.  Light will shine wherever it is, if it's turned on.  Let your love light shine no matter where you are.  The circumstances of life can always change, but don't turn your love light off.

All these pictures were taken as I was shopping around looking at potential things.  Do you know why I was able to see them?  The light was on.  That applies to people too.  People can see your light, no matter how much darkness is around you.  You will shine through it all!  I love some of the quotes as well because life is a journey and sometimes we need to remember that each day makes up the whole.  If you have one bad day or a string of bad days, it will not make up all of your life.  It may be hard to remember that, but try to when you think this is the worst.  It's not.  It's the beginning of something new designed just for you.  Keep being a light where you are!
