Living or Having A Life

Hello and long time no vlog or blog.  I am new resident of Keller/Fort Worth, Texas! So much has happened and so fast in the last year.  I think the last article I wrote was about my trip to Colombia.

As is the custom, it is always about staying positive or trying to see the good in life.  That is really what life is about, the perspective that we take with us along the journey.  Let me just say that God is Good.  That is the theme that carries one through life because if outlook matters, and it does, your outlook has a lot to do with how you see life.

The first thing that affected my outlook here or the decision to move here, was how I saw the world in relation to me.  Change can be frightening and in life if you notice, most people think the unknown is not as good as the known.  A new city.  New people.  New culture and customs.  New routine.  New place to live.  Perhaps new friends.  So much new, but is it really new or just different.  If life affords us the opportunity to continue to evolve and grow, then we are always experiencing the “new” in life.

Our problem is that we never see it as new but mundane or comfortable.  What if the new was comfortable and welcoming.  What if meeting people was normal and it is?  What if each day was new and it is.  If our inner being is renewed daily, as God says, and His mercies are new each day, then maybe each day is the best bargain in life that we have.  Imagine walking into each day with the odds in your favor that it could be the best day of your life?  Now matter how good today is, tomorrow has the potential to be even greater!

What would life be like if we took the attitude that something good is about to happen, as the song says?

I would argue that life would take on a fullness that sometimes we overlook!  He has come that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

So, if I might leave a thought as I end this writing… …If you have the choice between living or having life, which would you choose?
