There are Still Good Things in the World
Well, I had not written about the current events happening around the world. Actually, it is really the one event that has taken the world by storm. Usually, according to culture, the spring brings an influx of movies in preparation for the blockbusters of the summer. This year COVID-19 is the blockbuster in communities near you. Everywhere and everyone is impacted by this virus.
So I try to be reasonable and realize that the world is a big place and there must be something else going on. You know what? There is something else going on.
Life is going on. Yes, it is restricted depending upon where you live, but people will function. I saw an article of a family making meals for people. There are babies on the way — probably going to be a lot more due to social distancing that has an unintended consequence of more babies form spatial closeness. One thing I noticed as I was driving yesterday was the horses were out in the field grazing. It caught my attention that the animals don’t seem to be worried about much. Isn’t that peculiar?
God says not to worry, and He takes care of the lilies of the field, and will take care of you. Imagine if we were like the animals who could care less about COVID-19, and social distancing. Imagine if we could see all the good that is happening now that we are forced to see to some degree. I made a mean rice, bean, vegetable and sausage dinner last night! Can we enjoy the laughter of kids that we took for granted maybe. What about the sound of rain falling on our homes? Sitting outside in the yard talking about absolutely nothing, but have the time of your life isn’t such a bad thing now is it?
Do you know what I did the other day? I opened my front door for no reason at all just to look at the sunshine. It made no sense but I was free to do it. What are you free to do that you will enjoy? Do it!
Look for all the wonderful things that are happening. There are still good things happening all around us. If you open your eyes and heart you will see a beautiful world still. Go enjoy it!
